Climate Change Center

Climate change has fully entered the public consciousness.  Newspapers barrage readers with stories of shrinking glaciers, disappearing species, cataclysmic weather and political gridlock blocking desperately needed change. The reality of climate change and the imperative to do something is now widely accepted.  What to do and how fast to do it remains intensely controversial.

The world's leading transportation energy experts gather every two years at the invitation-only Asilomar Conference center in California for three days of intense debate.  For most of the last decade, discussions have focused on strategies to reduce adverse climate impacts from the transportation sector.  Energy Futures has collaborated with the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis campus to publish proceedings from the last four Asilomar conferences.  Electronic copies of Individual chapters and the entire book from the most recent Biennial Conference on Transportation and Energy Policy are available below left.  Links to sites where printed copies of the three previous Asilomar books can be ordered appear below right.
